WEST's sold out conference looking at how wearable tech is impacting sports and entertainment caused quite a stir in the media both the day of and days after.
WEST returned to the city with a bang as this sold-out event took up two floors at the MaRS Discovery District Centre. Over 600 guests got their hands-on some amazing tech from over 31 exhibitors in wearable tech, IoT and 3D printing. The smartwatch space is expected to move the needle on the wearable space over the next five years according to a new report from IDC. IDC forecasts that worldwide wearable shipments will reach 173.4 Million by 2019 mainly propelled by what they call the "smart wearable category" which includes smartwatches which have the ability to run third-party apps.

We Are Wearables headed to Canada's capital on June 23. Hosted in the heart of the market downtown Ottawa at Systemscope, the Ottawa tech community rallied together to demo wearable tech from two local startups and hear from some of the pioneers and thought leaders working in wearables in the city.
